The Laziest Fraudster Ever?

This article is more than ten years old and was last updated in September 2015.

If you know me, which you probably do if you are reading this, then you'll know that when I get email through from fraudster and scammers, I like to waste their time by replying.

Usually it's a stupidly elaborate story about the lost inheritance of a middle-eastern king who was shot dead in battle, in a change to convention, an email plopped in to my inbox this week with the subject "hello you ready to recieve your atm card".

All that the first email said in it was "hello", he couldn't even be bother to use a capital 'H'!

The rest of the email conversation went as follows...
Me: Great, thanks!
Scammer: Can you come down here and get you approval slip to sign. At the bank.
Me: Yeah sure, no problem. Where do I need to go?
Scammer: Very good. Come to Nigeria. In the next email give me your flight details.

For a bank card? I can't imagine the uptake on this particular scam being very high.
