It's a sunny Sunday morning in Bristol, the clocks went back last night bringing an end to British Summer Time and starting as on the cold slog to Christmas, which is exactly two months today.
I'm just waiting to be picked up for a day out in the sun, so I thought I'd take the time to update my blog with my thoughts, learnings and experiences from the weekend.

You may have noticed that I failed to blog on Friday, despite my intention to blog every day for a week. Well, don't see this as a failure, the life changes I've made are all about feeling better about myself and making the most out of my free time... which I did, I went out on Friday night straight after work so there was no time to blog. I worked from home, well my family home in Bristol on Friday. I still got up early and got through two hours of my own projects before work, my tasks for Friday were to write some more of an ebook I started writing a while back, I got to about 30,000 words but still have about half of the book to write and was encouraged to continue by a friend I shared my progress with.
I managed to get a good chunk of writing done. At lunch on Friday I had a Google Hangout with a YouTube Partner Manager who I've been assigned to. We chatted about my channel and she gave me some great tips of tweaks and changes I can make and even suggested some new content strands. Those changes will make it on to my daily task list at some point next week.
I also have sponsored video to make this week, it's my first one. I was approached by one of the big YouTube MCNs to get involved, they're sending me a surprise package through the post which will feature in a video, I shoot a video and send it to them. They then do a bit of editing and productions and add in some actors and send it back to me for upload to my channel, and for that I get a nice little bit of cash.
So I think I'll be adding a couple of shoots to my morning task list next week, I might try to rush out on additional video for Halloween too. I'm also planning a live stream on YouTube on the night of Halloween, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen purely based on the speed of my broadband, I need to do some proper tests this week and decide whether to go ahead with it or not.
In terms of sticking to my healthy eating plan over the weekend, it's tougher back in Bristol because I have more of a social life here but I had the treat day from the last five days I could use on day five and the treat day from the current five days I could use on day one. So I was able to have treats on Friday and Saturday. So, Friday was dinner at friends', we cooked lasagne and had trifle for dessert. On Saturday I had a meeting, it was in Starbucks so I had a coffee, only my second coffee in weeks. I had a healthy lunch while I was shopping and went out for dinner with family in the evening, I opted for a vegetarian chilli con carne and rice so stayed fairly healthy. I just drank water at the meal, I haven't had any alcohol in about a month now, so I realised I'd inadvertently quit drinking too so I thought I'd stick with that.
The meeting I had was with a former colleague and his friends. It's a media project we're looking to launch from Bristol and is very exciting. Initially there were three of us but on Saturday we brought in a fourth person, the business mind. So now we have our bases covered, the three of cover creative and technical roles and now the new addition to the team can help us actually make money from it, something he has experience doing with similar ventures.
Obviously I can't go into too much detail about that here as we need to keep our unique edge and point of difference quiet until we launch, the first phase of launch is scheduled for December.
