Most Haunted Halloween 2017

Fans of 'Most Haunted' are in for a treat this Halloween as the long-running ghost hunting show, fronted by Yvette Fielding, returns for a new series and a Halloween special on the night of October 31st.

However, the treat doesn't come without a bit of a trick. Unfortunately the special, which airs on Tuesday 31st October, won't be a live show, but the two hour long show will be recorded "as live" and will produced in the same style as one of the live shows, meaning it will be unedited and uncut.

The location of this year's special has not yet been announced, but the team are likely to be returning to one of their familiar haunts for guaranteed scares on this extra spooky night.

This week, we also found out that the team behind 'Most Haunted' are planning to turn the show into a movie, which is already in the early stages of production.

New Series Starts October 27th

As well as the Halloween special, Really have also confirmed a new series which returns a few days before Halloween on October 27th 2017.

One of the show's host and creators, Karl Beattie‏ previously announced that a new series of the show was starting on Really this October.
"With the announcement of the new series of @OnlyMostHaunted, I wanted to say that I hope you enjoy it. We make this show for you cuz we love ya x"

The Really channel have been teasing their announcement all week but only revealed the details tonight, of course on sinister Friday 13th.

Although fans were hoping for a fully live show, not an "as live" show like last year, we already knew that the first episode of the series couldn't have been a live show because Karl Beattie and fellow cast member Stuart Torevell return to Abbey House on that night, Friday 27th October, for a non-televised ghost hunting event with members of public.

Then the following night, the 28th, they move on to Wentworth Woodhouse for another Most Haunted Experience event with the show's host, Yvette Fielding. So that ruled out the possibility of a 'Most Haunted LIVE' over the weekend before Halloween.

But, historically the live Halloween specials have been broadcast either on the run up to Halloween, or just on the night. Either way, every one has been broadcast on the 31st. So, that meant if there was a live show it could be broadcast on Tuesday 31st October, and according to the Most Haunted Experience events calendar, the team are free on the big day.

But, despite the teams availability, it seems Really had other plans and instead a pre-recorded Halloween special will air on the night.

As for the location, there's a strong possibility it could be Wentworth Woodhouse, the team may have even be planning to film the episode around the time of their visit on October 27th. The Grade I listed country house in the village of Wentworth, South Yorkshire is where the team captured some of their best evidence in the last series.

While at Wentworth, the team caught an eerie figure on camera walking up some steps during a nighttime vigil in part of the derelict stable block.

This isn't the first time fans have been given an "as live" show. In 2016, rather than full blown live episodes, viewers were given a two hour long "as live" edition, filmed in realtime at HM Prison Shrewsbury.

The last true live show was in 2015 when the team visited 30 East Drive in Pontefract, the West Yorkshire house is said to be one of the most haunted houses in the UK. The episode marked the 32nd live show, the first of which was broadcast from Dudley Castle in 2002.
