'Inside No. 9'
Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's 'Inside No. 9' often delves into unusual and even paranormal themes and the show returns for a fourth series early in the new year on BBC Two.
So far the BBC have kept details of the new series under wraps, but look out for cameos from Zoë Wanamaker, Noel Clarke, Emilia Fox, and the brilliant Kevin Eldon, to name just a few.
Pemberton and Shearsmith have said the new series is "a real mix of styles and genres, including one really brilliant episode and one really disappointing one. We look forward to viewers debating which is which."
The Really channel has confirmed that show will be returning in January of the new year for its 21st series, marking the show's 238th episode. Series 22 of the long-running ghost hunting show hosted by Yvette Fielding follows on from two great series in 2017, including an epic Halloween special at Croxteth Hall, and some of the best episodes to date.
'The ParaPod Movie'
'The ParaPod' is a Chortle Awards nominated podcast, hosted by comedians skeptic Ian Boldsworth and Barry Dodds who is a firm believer in the paranormal. Having produce three successful series of the podcast, Barry and Ian are now taking their winning format for supernatural debate to the medium of film.
It's not yet known what the movie will be about, but is likely to follow duo around the country as Barry tries to convince Ray that the paranormal is real at some of the UK's most haunted and mysterious locations.
There's no release date yet and Ian, who is directing the movie, is keep his cards close to his chest in terms of exactly what we can expect from the production, but we're sure to hear more about the movie early in the new year.
Celebrity Ghost Hunt
New to 5STAR in February, Rylan Clark-Neal takes teams of celebrity ghost hunters to seek out paranormal activity in six of the most haunted locations around the UK.
The first episode airs on Tuesday 6th February and features Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson, Love Island and Blazin' Squad's Marcel Sommerville, and TOWIE's Bobby Norris.
'Stranger Things' Season 3
Although a date has not yet been confirmed by Netflix or the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, it's likely that the hugely popular web-series 'Stranger Things' will return for a third season towards the end of 2018.
The first season was made available on Netflix in July 2016, the follow up was released in October 2017. This means there was a gap of 15 months between the first two seasons, but we're hoping the production team can close this gap and turn around a new season before the end of 2018.
Paranormal Movie Releases In 2018
'Insidious: The Last Key'
The fourth movie in the 'Insidious' franchise sees parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet - in her own family home. The movie comes to cinema on January 5, 2018.
'Truth Or Dare'
A group of college students are haunted by spirits after being tricked into playing a supernatural version of Truth or Dare. The game goes horribly wrong when someone... or something starts to punish those who tell a lie or refuse a dare. 'Truth Or Dare' is released April 27, 2018.
'The Cloverfield Paradox'
Originally slated for a 2017 release, the third instalment in the 'Cloverfield' franchise finally gets a worldwide release on February 2, 2018. Set in the same universe as the original 2008 movie and '10 Cloverfield Lane', 'God Particle' tells the story of the astronauts aboard a space station who are left floating in deep space after a scientific experiment causes Earth to seemingly disappear. The release ended up getting push back to April, before being brought forward to April 5th. The name was also changed from 'God Particle' to 'The Cloverfield Paradox'.
It's amazing it's taken this long for a movie about the mythical character known has Slender Man who first appeared on the website creepypasta in 2009. Javier Botet, who's been cast as Slender Man, played the similar role of The Crooked Man in 'The Conjuring 2'. It will be released on May 18, 2018.
Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode in a direct sequel to the original film. Of course, the movie is due for release just in time for Halloween on October 19, 2018 and follows Laurie as she comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
The next movie in the Cloverfield franchise, but this time things are a little different. The movie is set in an alternative version of 1944 and features two American paratroopers are shot down over Normandy in the midst of the D-Day invasion. This horror film may not sound like it falls into the paranormal genre, but when these paratroopers discover that the Nazis are using supernatural forces against them, it's clear that this is no 'Saving Private Ryan'.
