Netflix is set to dive into one of the most fascinating and controversial UFO stories of all time with the upcoming release of a new documentary series, 'The Manhattan Alien Abduction', premiering on October 30.

The series promises to unearth fresh details about the famous Linda Napolitano abduction case, also known as the Manhattan abduction, which captivated UFO enthusiasts and paranormal researchers for decades.

According to Netflix's synopsis, the series will provide viewers with an in-depth look at what some call "ufology's greatest mystery". The case involves Linda Napolitano, a New York City resident who claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrials in November 1989. What sets this story apart from typical alien abduction accounts is the claim that multiple witnesses, including bodyguards of a high-profile political figure, saw Linda being floated from her apartment near the Brooklyn Bridge into a UFO.

Despite being over three decades old, the case remains a hot topic of debate, particularly on social media and UFO forums. However, what many people don’t know is that a filmmaker was embedded at the core of the investigation when the incident occurred. This filmmaker allegedly captured hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage, which is now being made public for the first time through the documentary.

Linda Napolitano, who was living in a Manhattan high-rise at the time, reported that she was taken from her apartment during the early morning hours. She described how she was levitated through her bedroom window by a group of small, grey-skinned beings into a UFO hovering above her building. Once aboard, she claimed to have undergone a typical alien abduction scenario, including medical examinations and telepathic communication with the beings.

What made the case unique was the involvement of multiple eyewitnesses, particularly two men known as Richard and Dan, who were allegedly bodyguards for a high-profile political figure. The bodyguards claimed they saw the event unfold from the ground, observing Linda being floated out of her window. They were so shaken by the incident that they later tracked Linda down to confirm what they had seen.

One of the more intriguing aspects of the case was the suggestion that the political figure the bodyguards were protecting may have been Javier Perez de Cuéllar, the Secretary-General of the United Nations at the time. Although Perez de Cuéllar has never publicly confirmed his involvement, a letter surfaced, purportedly from him, which added weight to the claim that he may have been present during the abduction.

Like many UFO cases, the Linda Napolitano abduction has drawn significant controversy. Some UFO researchers, including Budd Hopkins, who initially investigated the case, believed it to be credible. Hopkins helped Linda explore her memories of the event through hypnosis, which revealed more details about her time aboard the spacecraft. However, critics have raised doubts about the use of hypnosis, arguing that it can create false memories and that the entire story may have been influenced by pre-existing UFO lore.

The claim that high-profile witnesses, including bodyguards and potentially the Secretary-General of the UN, were involved but remained largely silent or unconfirmed has fuelled scepticism.

'The Manhattan Alien Abduction' is sure to provoke discussion and further speculation on what really happened on that November night in 1989. Be sure to stream it on Netflix from October 30 to see the mystery unravel for yourself.
