Hollywood star Woody Harrelson has revealed a personal encounter with unexplained lights in the sky during a conversation on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'. The actor, best known for his roles in 'True Detective' and 'Zombieland', spoke about the incident after Stephen Colbert admitted to having seen a UFO himself.
The discussion began when Stephen asked Woody if he had ever witnessed an unidentified flying object. At first, Woody seemed hesitant to share his story but then admitted, "Really? Okay then, I'll admit... I have."
Before launching into his recollection, Woody made it clear that his experience did not involve an abduction. "I wasn't abducted... well, maybe I was abducted and forgot or something," he joked, adding a touch of humour to the conversation.
Woody then detailed his sighting, which took place in Ohio around 1974. He recalled stepping outside to find that many people in his neighbourhood were already gathered in the street, looking up at the night sky. What they saw was a series of blinking lights that moved in an erratic manner. "There were these lights that were kind of blinking, and then it just shot all the way across the sky. Then there'd be one over there, shoot over here, and there were several – they just kept going across the sky," he explained.
The spectacle continued for several minutes before the lights disappeared. However, what Woody found most unsettling was the way everyone reacted - or rather, failed to react. "We watched it for a while. It took a few minutes, and then finally it just went somewhere else, some other world, and nobody talked about it – like literally, everybody just went inside and said nothing. It was so freaky even for me as young as I was."
The actor's story echoes common themes in UFO sightings - strange aerial manoeuvres, a shared but unspoken experience, and a lingering sense of mystery. While Woody didn't speculate on what the lights might have been, his childhood memory remains a vivid and unexplained moment in his life.
Woody's revelation adds him to the growing list of celebrities who have spoken openly about witnessing unexplained aerial phenomena. Whether the lights he saw were extraterrestrial in origin or something more terrestrial remains unknown, but his experience certainly contributes to the ongoing conversation about the mysteries of the skies.
