A creepy small-town clown returns with a vengeance in the first trailer for 'Clown In A Cornfield', a comedy-horror film based on the 2020 novel by Adam Cesare.
The film follows teenager Quinn Maybrook, played by Katie Douglas, who moves with her father Dr Maybrook (Aaron Abrams) to the quiet town of Kettle Springs. It's meant to be a fresh start, but the town is far from peaceful. Since the local corn syrup factory closed, Kettle Springs has become bitterly divided – with the older generation clinging to tradition, and the younger crowd more interested in fun, pranks, and filming everything for the internet.
That tension boils over when the town's old mascot, a cartoonish clown named Frendo, suddenly reappears – not as a happy symbol of the past, but as a very real killer hiding behind the greasepaint.
You can watch the trailer for 'Clown In A Cornfield' below, ahead of its May 9 release in the UK and USA.
Directed by Eli Craig, known for blending horror with comedy, the film also stars Carson MacCormac, Verity Marks, and Cassandra Potenza.
The trailer shows Quinn being introduced to a group of local teens who tell her the spooky story of Frendo, once the face of the Baypen Corn Syrup brand. One of them even dresses up as the clown to prank Quinn – but things take a dark turn when a real killer clown shows up in the background of their video, and the group finds themselves being hunted.
"There is a psycho dressed up like Frendo, trying to kill us," Quinn screams in the trailer, followed by a moment of comic relief as the teens try to call 911 using an old rotary phone.
'Clown In A Cornfield' hits cinemas in the UK and US on May 9 and promises a mix of scares, laughs, and small-town horror with a twisted edge.
