Has Dobby The House Elf Been Caught On Camera By A Muggle?

The video of the strange looking creature was uploaded to Facebook by Vivian Gomez and many have said the figure looks like Dobby from the Harry Potter movie series.

The confused home owner caught the unexplained image on a security camera outside her home in the US. She posted the clip on Facebook saying, "first I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing."

Although skeptics have been unable to debunk the viral video, the bizarre CCTV footage is unlikely to actually show Dobby, or any other elf. After all, Dobby is merely a fictional character conjured up by the mind of JK Rowling.

Those who have studied the clip in detail say that the strange shadows on the fence could indicate that this is a prank and that the strange creature could just be a child in a mask skipping along the driveway. This is based on the observation of a shadow of Vivian's backdoor opening at the start of the video, meaning that whatever is prancing around near her backdoor came from inside the house.

However, this has not been confirmed by Vivian and could be nothing more than a gate at the side of the house opening and closing.

Dobby is one of the most loved characters from the Harry Potter books. So much so that JK Rowling has had to publicly apologise for killing him off.
