A new documentary explores a stretch of the East Yorkshire coastline that's become notorious for reports of high strangeness. 'Into The Unknown' follows researcher and author Paul Sinclair and filmmaker Chris Turner as they delve into decades of unexplained events in and around the village of Bempton.

This part of the UK, including nearby Flamborough, Speeton and the old RAF Bempton site, has earned a reputation as a British hotspot for strange phenomena. Over the course of the film, the team investigate reports of mysterious lights in the sky, mutilated animals, electronic voice phenomena, unexplained radiation spikes, and even accounts of missing time.

Paul, best known for his Truth Proof book series, brings a meticulous and boots-on-the-ground approach to the investigation. As the film progresses, viewers are taken deep into the landscape of East Yorkshire - into woodland, clifftops and long-forgotten military ruins - where witness testimonies and unusual events seem to stack up with eerie consistency.

You can watch the hour-long mini-documentary 'Into The Unknown' below.
One recurring theme throughout the film is the appearance of unusual orange or amber lights in the sky, often referred to as "intelligent light forms" or ILFs. These lights have been reported by fishermen, hikers, and other witnesses over many years, and are described as behaving in ways that suggest awareness - forming geometric patterns, reacting to observers, and sometimes disappearing only to reappear elsewhere moments later.

The film even includes claims that military jets have been seen pursuing these lights, and Paul recalls seeing the lights himself on several occasions, sometimes in the company of others who were equally shocked by what they were witnessing.

Alongside the lights, East Yorkshire also has a surprising number of big cat sightings. These large, panther-like creatures have been spotted darting across fields and into dense gorse bushes. Several independent witnesses - including a vet and a horse rider - feature in the film as Paul and Chris discuss the credibility of such reports. They even set up trail cameras and thermal imaging equipment in hopes of capturing evidence of the elusive animals.

These aren't just stories from years gone by either - sightings continue to be reported, with some locals convinced that something is living and hunting in the countryside near Bempton.

More unsettling are the reports of animal carcasses found with injuries that defy normal explanation. Sheep and deer have been discovered with their eyes and ears removed with surgical precision, often with no blood at the scene. Paul investigated dozens of such cases between 2017 and 2019, and the footage shows some of the exact spots where these remains were found.

The documentary also touches on incidents of missing time, with one local fisherman describing an occasion when he arrived at his destination an hour and a half early with no memory of the journey. It's one of several cases where time appears to move differently in this region, adding another layer of mystery.

As well as collecting witness reports, Paul shares some of his own strange experiences - including a chilling encounter with a man who seemed to know too much. This individual, described as having strange skin and wraparound sunglasses, repeatedly warned Paul that he was "bringing down the light" and needed to stop his investigations. The encounter left him rattled and has remained a disturbing part of the story ever since.

The film ends by reinforcing the idea that this part of East Yorkshire may be one of the most active paranormal locations in the country, drawing comparisons to places like Skinwalker Ranch in the US. With everything from UFO sightings to ancient folklore converging in one place, it raises more questions than it answers.
