The first batch of GhostArks of reached their owners but there's still one thing missing and that's the online data analysis tool which was supposed to be available ready for the launch of the device.
Well, two weeks after shipping, GhostArk haven't yet managed to get the software out to users, which got me wondering how hard it would be to make it myself.
I removed the CD card containing the data I'd recorded from my GhostArk and opened it up on my MacBook to see what data was included. The data file is a pretty simple spreadsheet containing temperature, pressure and EM readings plotted against a time stamp.
It's easy to use, just upload your 'data.csv' file, you'll then see some top-level stats as well as a chart showing changes in the data over time. If you've used the device on several research trips then you can switch between them to view the different data sets.
I'm sure GhostArk's version will have many more options including the option to create an account and store your data online, but I couldn't warrant spending too much time building this.
If you have any problems using the tool or importing your data then please get in touch via the contact page.
