Fans of the supernatural drama 'Stranger Things' have finally been given a first glimpse of the show's much-anticipated final chapter, with Netflix unveiling a teaser trailer and confirming the release schedule for season five.

The new trailer, released during the Netflix Tudum LIVE event, offers a brief but atmospheric look at the upcoming season, which picks up after the events of the season four finale. In that cliffhanger ending, a huge rift to the Upside Down tore through Hawkins, leaving the town - and its residents - on the edge of catastrophe.

You can watch the trailer for the upcoming fifth season below...
Season five will see the return of Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, David Harbour and Winona Ryder, with the storyline set in the autumn of 1987. According to Netflix, Hawkins is now under military quarantine, with the town still reeling from the chaos caused by Vecna. As the characters prepare for one final confrontation, the stakes appear higher than ever.

The final season will be released in three volumes:
Volume One: 26th November, 2025
Volume Two: 25th December, 2025
Volume Three: 31st December, 2025

It's the second time the series has opted for a staggered release. Season four followed a similar format in 2022, allowing fans time to digest the escalating storylines as they unfolded.

"The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished - his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming - and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone - the full party - standing together, one last time."

With the Upside Down bleeding into reality, and all signs pointing to a climactic confrontation, fans can expect season five to close the story with plenty of tension, nostalgia and paranormal twists.
