Barry Dodds
Barry Dodds, a well-known paranormal investigator who visited the Ancient Ram Inn while filming The ParaPod Movie, talks about his experiences and offers advice to to Higgypop.com creator, Steve Higgins, ahead of his night at the infamous location.

The nightlong supernatural stakeout is the subject of Steve's paranormal documentary, 'My Ghost Hunting Movie', which was released on May 28 and features an interview with paranormal investigator, Barry.

The Ancient Ram Inn, located in Gloucestershire, England, is known for its paranormal activity and its former owner, the late John Humphries, who had a strong attachment to the place. Barry recalls the day he and his team visited the location, which coincided with Humphries' passing. "It was the day that he died," Barry explained, adding "the only way I can describe it is it had like an air of sadness to it, because, John Humphries was that building. It was as much part of him as he was part of it."

Watch the complete interview video below to hear more of Barry's advice for Steve ahead of his solo mission to the legendary Ancient Ram Inn.

Steve hopes to experience something paranormal during his stay, and Barry believes that Steve might have a better chance than most due to being alone in the Inn. He said, "I think you've probably got more chance on your own because you haven't got other people banging around. And I say that respectfully. It's an old building, you know, somebody walks up to the flow in one part of the building it creaks at the other end."

Barry suggests that Steve should try to live in the building as it would have been lived in, rather than focusing solely on paranormal investigations. He explained, "I think you also get a chance to do something that a lot of investigators don't which is you get to live in the house as it would have been lived in because nobody when they actually lived there was walking around with devices saying 'is there anyone there? Make a noise.'"

To try and raise the energy in the building and shake things up a little, Steve plans to take his decks and drop a DJ set in the Witch's Room. Agreeing this is potentially a good idea, Barry recommends some tracks, jokingly mentioning a favourite of his, Erasure's 'A Little Respect': "A little respect for the dead."

Barry also advised that I try to sleep in the building, specifically in the Bishop's Room, to make me more vulnerable and open to potential encounters with the supernatural. Barry said, "try making yourself completely vulnerable, and you can't be more vulnerable as when you sleep."

While acknowledging the potential risks of staying in the inn alone, Barry expresses his own concerns about being in that situation, stating "I personally don't know if I would put myself in that situation. I don't think I'll do on my own because I think if anything goes wrong, you are you are on your own there." He encourages Steve to keep an open mind and maintain a connection with the building, but to be constantly aware of the potential dangers involved.

As Steve prepares to embark on his solo journey at the Ancient Ram Inn, his conversation with Barry provides valuable insight into what one might expect when delving into the world of the paranormal. Will his stay result in a life-changing experience, or will it simply reaffirm his skepticism? Only time will tell.
