There are plenty of supernatural film, paranormal-themed movies and creepy horror flicks to look out for in 2023, here's a guide to the best ghostly movies coming to cinemas this year.

Although no plot details or even a title for the new film have been announced, it is set to drop on December 20, 2023. However, we do know that the sequel will feature the characters back in New York City and the old Ghostbusters' firehouse will play a significant role.

In a city of millions, no one hears you scream and dollowing the latest killings at the hands of the mask-wearing psycho, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood & Honey

Due for release in February due to a legal loophole that means the childhood favourite is no longer subject of copyright, this terrible looking film follows Pooh and Piglet as they go on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them for college.

There's no release date yet for the sequel to James Wan's 2018 horror, the ninth instalment from his 'Conjuring' universe. The movie will see Bonnie Aarons return as the terrifying demonic nun in 1950s France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading.

A creepy Disney classic gets a remake in 2023 with Jamie Lee Curtis and Winona Ryder. Coming at the end of January, married couple Maya and Jamie escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland only to discover malevolent and murderous goblins lurking in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden.

First Ascent

Two years after she almost died in a solo climbing accident, she enlists the help of her old climbing partners to document her comeback the first ascent of 4,000 foot rock wall in rural China. During the harrowing climb, Hillary struggles with her inner demons and supernatural forces, as it slowly becomes clear that this mountain does not want to be conquered.
