Ghostober 2021

Discovery have revealed their Halloween schedule as Ghostober returns to the Travel Channel for a fourth year and grows to include the Food Network and HGTV.

Halloween lovers in the United States who can't wait for their favourite time of the year can get ready to experience a season of amplified fright and freakish fun with more than 50 hours of shows as part of the Ghostober programming event.

For the first time ever, the annual Halloween television extravaganza will see three Discovery-owned channels and Discovery+ come together to deliver 14 series and specials.

Travel Channel, Food Network, HGTV and the streaming service, Discovery+, will host the larger-than-ever Ghostober IV, designed to appeal to viewers who live for the creepy, scary, adrenaline-inducing stories that define Halloween.

The main event as always is a 'Ghost Adventures' special. This year Zak Bagans takes his team on an especially personal lockdown. Joined by Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley, the GAC return to the place where their journey began. The emotionally-charged special, 'Ghost Adventures: Goldfield Hotel', will settle once and for all a mysterious, evil feud that's been cast over this haunted Nevada town.

But that's not all, there's plenty more to come from Zak this October including the premiere of 'The Haunted Museum' on Discovery+, a new  horror anthology series produced in collaboration with filmmaker Eli Roth. Each episode tells frightening tales inspired by some of the most terrifying, cursed artefacts on display at Zak's own Haunted Museum in Las Vegas.

Also on the Travel channel, medium Amy Allan and retired homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi are back on the case with a brand-new season of 'The Dead Files', as the duo combine their unique skills to help solve paranormal mysteries plaguing property owners.

On the scariest night of the year itself, which this year falls on a Sunday, fans of the paranormal will get to see the revival of the series that started it all. Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango and Shari DeBenedetti, along with a few other familiar faces, take on epic haunted locations in a sneak peek of the brand-new season of 'Ghost Hunters'.

Exclusively on Discovery+ this October, brother-and-sister duo Jack and Kelly Osbourne reprise their ghost hunting roles together as they embark on an eerie investigation aboard the supremely haunted RMS Queen Mary ocean liner in 'Jack & Kelly Osbourne: Night Of Terror'. The pair are in for a night of frights with unsettling and aggressive paranormal activity, laced with classic Osbourne expletives and sibling squabbles, of course.

If scares are your preference, also streaming over Halloween is 'Eli Roth Presents: A Ghost Ruined My Life', a new series from the master of horror that recounts real-life stories of hauntings that have taken a terrifying toll on unsuspecting people.

As well as all of this, look out for new episodes of 'Paranormal Caught On Camera', 'These Woods Are Haunted' and 'The Alaska Triangle', which drop throughout the month.

Excited?

Which paranormal show are you most looking forward to this Ghostober?

If the spooky season and themed food go hand-in-hand for you, then the Food Network are dishing up some fiendish treats you won't want to miss out on this Halloween, beginning with a new season of 'Halloween Baking Championship'. This time, the bakers create killer treats that pay homage to quintessential 1980s horror films.

The frightening food offerings continue as disastrous cooks face their fears in the kitchen and tackle terrifying ingredients in the new special, 'Worst Cooks In America: Halloween Redemption 2'.

As well as this, paranormal superstar Zak Bagans makes his Food Network debut on 'Halloween Wars'. The seasonal favourite returns with new episodes and Zak will be providing creepy inspiration for the teams challenges as they compete to create frightening confections.

October wouldn't be complete without some 'Outrageous Pumpkins', an ode to astounding carved creations. This new season, hosted by Alyson Hannigan, takes the pumpkin-carving tradition to another level as talented carvers compete for the grand prize.

If home improvement and real estate is more your thing, then look out for an HGTV show with a twist as Emmy-nominated actor Anthony Anderson and his mother, Doris Bowman, host the new series 'House Haunters'. The duo takes over properties to devise humorous gags to scare, startle and surprise visitors – it's a hidden camera real estate and home renovation prank show that's full of Halloween fun.
