The Haunted Hunts: Cemeteries Of The Dead - 'Penrhyn Old Hall'

Danny Moss and 'The Haunted Hunts' team continue their exploration at Penrhyn Old Hall, another haunted location with mysterious connections to on-site burials in their fifth season, entitled 'Cemeteries Of The Dead'. The fourth episode of the season sees Danny head to Conwy in Wales with the rest of his team, consisting of Rebecca Salisbury-Moss, Emma Dawe, Charlie Rutter, Roxanne Rutter, Alice Grindley and Nick Anderson.

The Old Hall is the oldest building in Penrhyn Bay dating back to the early 15th century and with tales of murder and suffering, as well as exactly what the team are looking for this series, links to burials. A skeleton was found at the property in the 1900s and the withered hand of a murdered monk who was hung, drawn and quartered. Ever since, a phantom monk has been reported roaming parts of the building.

The hall's most famous residents spooks are the ghost of a young girl who is said to have been murdered by her sisters for trying to marry outside the Catholic faith. Other reports include a ghostly solider, the spirit of a bad-tempered man, the ghost of an elderly woman and mischievous child spirits.

The team start with their pre-investigation, which involves an initial walk around the property and a chance to take baseline reading throughout the property. After their first day in the hall, Danny said, "I am so excited to delve into this building and potentially find some paranormal activity."

The next night, the team got stuck into their full investigation. Near the beginning of the night Emma was using an ultra-sensitive microphone which she was monitoring through headphones in real time. This allowed her to hear subtle sounds that the human ear might not pick up on. At one point she heard what she thought was a voice saying "help," but upon reviewing the recording it appeared to say "hello." Danny described this as undeniable spirit communication.

Towards the end of their investigation, the team were holding vigil in part of the old hall, when they heard what they believed to be a female voice spoken through a piece of custom-made ghost hunting equipment called an IntraVox, which is similar to a spirit box and is said to allow spirits to communicate.

Although the voice wasn't clear and what was spoken couldn't be determined, the fact that a voice of the same tone came through twice was enough to convince the team they had solid evidence of contact.

The team's mission to uncover the mysteries of haunted burial sites continues at two more terrifying locations. We'll be bringing you an episode guide for the fifth instalment of 'Cemeteries Of The Dead' next week.
