The return of Stranger Things to Netflix is one of the most anticipated TV events at the year, and simultaneously, one of the worst kept secrets. In fact, rather than keeping us all guessing as Netflix did with previous seasons, a teaser trailer dropped in October last year
, not too long after the dust had settled on Season 3.
Then in February another trailer dropped, this time confirming the return of everyone’s favourite law-enforcement officer with substance abuse issues, Hopper. This appeared to show Hops stuck in Russia
carrying out hard labour. These scenes were apparently filmed in Lithuania.
The latest video to head our way is actually of a table read of the script which took place in Atlanta. A table read is, as the name suggests, an opportunity for the cast to read through the script in advance of filming. It gives the chance for new ideas to be suggested, for the script writers to tweak the dialogue or just to move things around a little bit. By this point the script is fairly well advanced, so no major changes would be planned, but, for example, an actor might suggest their character might say in a line in a different way.
Apparently shot on ropey old VHS, with the Stranger Things synthy score, the clip certainly looked like a genuine 80s video clip.
More From 'Stranger Things'

The video opens with Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas, beckoning us in to the script read through.
Hopper & Mike
Next up, a shaven headed David Harbour (Hopper), presumably fresh from the gulag, giving Finn Wolfhard, Mike Wheeler, a hug.
Then we cut to a ‘camera shy’ Gaten Matarezzo, Dustin.
Steve & Hopper
We’re all hugely relieved to see that whilst David Harbour has had his head shaved for Hopper’s prison scenes, it looks like the greatest haircut in Hawkins is still intact and still glorious, as seen here sported by Joe Keery who plays Steve Harrington, a character who really came to the fore in season 3.
Mike & Dustin
Finn Wolfhard getting filmed by Gaten.
A nearly unrecognisable Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) is featured in the clip with a dog. Do you think the baseball cap and glasses look will stay?
The head of the Wheeler family, Karen Wheeler, is back in the form of Cara Buono.
Ok, we didn’t have to use this image but we just wanted to show how happy we are that Steve plus haircut are back.
It’s not Stranger Things without Will, right? Noah Schnapp present and correct.
Priah Ferguson was one of the breakout stars in season 3, playing Lucas’s younger sister Erica.
Sadie Sink, the mighty Max Mayfield is back for more.
Charlie Heaton appears to have turned up for the table read looking like he’s ready to go in front of the cameras as his character Jonathan Byers.
Natalie Dyer who plays Nancy Wheeler looks happy to get going on season 4.
Winona Ryder, who as we all know, plays Joyce Byers, was looking fab. As fans of Stranger Things, it’s sometimes difficult to picture Winona Ryder without thinking of her as impossibly stressed with all the goings on in Hawkins.
And signing off the clip, in fact, telling us to ‘Get outta here!’ is Brett Gelman who you’ll remember as arch conspiracy theorist, who it turns out, might have been right all along, Murray.
We still don’t know when season 4 is going to land – what do you think? Halloween? Possibly, but maybe that will be a rush. What about Christmas? Can you wait that long for your next fix of life in Hawkins?
